Miley cyrus facing lawsuit over....
Miley Cyrus is facing a lawsuit over her chart-topping hit "Flowers" due to allegations of copyright infringement. Tempo Music Investments, which owns part of the rights to Bruno Mars' 2013 song "When I Was Your Man," claims that "Flowers" bears significant similarities to Mars' track. The lawsuit argues that "Flowers" copies key melodic, harmonic, and lyrical elements, particularly in the chorus and its chord progression.
While Bruno Mars himself isn't involved in the lawsuit, Tempo Music Investments asserts that these similarities are so prominent that "Flowers" could not have been created without drawing from Mars' original work. The legal filing demands that Cyrus and her co-writers, including Gregory Hein and Michael Pollack, cease the distribution and public performance of "Flowers." They are also seeking damages, although the amount has not been specified yet
This legal action comes after "Flowers" became one of Miley Cyrus' most successful songs, even winning prestigious awards like "Record of the Year" at the 2024 Grammys
